Little Journeys -Bring It On Fall

It’s been awhile since we have really felt up to any travel time or the weather has cooperated.
I’m sure the “advocacy “ part of the blog has become overwhelming at this point, therefore, let me see how I can tell you what a wonderful week we’ve had!
Westmoreland State Park
One of our favorite places! The tide was high! The wind was strong. That did not stop us. We spent a great amount of time hanging out near the visitor center, near the natural gardens, capturing photos of insects and flowers.
The next day, we ventured out to Charlottesville for one of my medical treatments, then drove straight to West Virginia. Pretty aimlessly.
We ended up at Seneca Lake and then Spruce Knob.
Spruce Knob is the highest elevation in West Virginia.
We traveled many narrow dirt roads to see the top of that mountain!
Our adventure ended with a surprise trip to one of my favorite custard shops. Rays! Oh they have THE BEST HOMEMADE CUSTARD!
Although it was cold out, that was not stopping me from taking Ed up in his semi-romantic offer of eating custard on the tailgate.
I chose lemon ricotta and black cherry vanilla. Ed has his usual vanilla!
Needless to say, it’s been a tiring week.
Weeks like this are great though, because they are few and far between for us.
Here are a few of our sporadic traveling tips:
Pack your lunch - it’s much cheaper
Pack plenty of water, Gatorade, or oowerade
Pack snacks
Pack extra masks, hand-sanitizer, napkins
Be prepared to stop for gas, upload a gas finder app for cheaper prices and savings discounts
Enjoy the journey
Take photos of everything you see, even if they turn out bad
Have patience with each other
Enjoy each other

That concludes our journeys for this week!
Stay tuned. Hopefully in a few weeks we will actually be able to allow me to experience my first camping trip (God willing).
FYI: Photos are coming to our Etsy store soon as greeting card packs if anyone is interested!
As always, thanks for being a part of our journey, through the advocacy, ups, downs, and journeys!
